Job Description:


Clinical team lead and internal monitor for the CEIRS Influenza Vaccine Center that is sponsored by the Divisions of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of NIH. Supervises the implementation and adherence of the study protocols. Independently manages the most complex research administration activities associated with the conduct of clinical trials.

  • Monitors activities associated with the conduct of clinical trials through source documentation verification, reviews the quality and integrity of clinical data through in house review of electronic CRF data, generates system queries in the REDCap EDC system, works with team to resolve data queries, ensures proper reporting of adverse events and protocol deviations. Documents monitoring observations in reports using quality control and quality assurance reporting tools

  • Paper and electronic Case Report Form design and implementation CRF’s for productions use in REDCap EDC system

  • Prepares monthly clinical study progress reports, annual and semi-annual inclusion enrollment reports

  • Develops, implements, and oversees clinical research proposals. Specifically writing of consent documents, and data collection forms, coordination of the proposal submission, management of protocol development activities, oversight, and guidance of protocol execution activities.

  • Experience with investigator- initiated, pharmaceutical, and government sponsored clinical trials

  • Recruits, orients, and supervises research administration team. Provides training to site personnel to ensure compliance with study protocol, NIH requirements, and GCP

  • Coordinating efforts of cross- functional project teams

Minimal travel may be required but will not exceed 10% of the role.


The ideal candidate will be an independent worker, but also a team player and have the ability to discuss issues levelly. This position calls for a diverse array of skills. The selected candidate must be able to communicate concisely, courteously, and professionally both internally and externally, and must be detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to manage and process large amounts of information confidentially, accurately, and efficiently. Experience with Compass Financial Systems and RedCap are preferred.


(1.) High School Diploma or GED and seven years of clinical research experience. OR

(2.) Two years of college in a scientific, health related or business administration program and five years of clinical research experience OR

(3.) Licensed as a Practical Nurse (LPN) and four years of clinical research experience OR

(4.) Bachelor's degree in a scientific, health related or business administration program and three years clinical research experience OR

(5.) Master's degree, MD or PhD in a scientific, health related or business administration program and one year of clinical research experience

Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) preferred

This position is intended to support clinical research and all clinical training requirements must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the credentialing category of CLINICAL RESEARCHER.
