Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Primary duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.

  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.

  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.

  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.

  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.

  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.

  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives. Prepares operational and statistical reports.

  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.

  • May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

  • This is not an administrative support position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Communications Preferred Qualifications: This person must have good communications skills, both written and oral, and be proactive, accountable, and organized. Knowledge of computer-based programs such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, listservs, Google Calendar, a website content management system, and/or a database is preferred. One (1) writing sample is required.

Evaluation and Continuous Improvement Preferred Qualification:

• Knowledge of clinical and translational research and evaluation methodologies (both quantitative and qualitative), statistical analysis, and presentation of findings.

• Experience in quantitative methodology, including designing quantitative data collection instruments and skills in statistical analysis

• Experience in qualitative methodology, including designing qualitative data collection instruments and analyzing qualitative data

Additional Job Details:

This position would be evenly split between the Evaluation & Continues Improvement program and the Communications program of the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA). The Georgia CTSA begins its eleventh year thanks to a five year $51M grant from the NIH to improve human health by transforming the research and training environment to enhance the efficiency and quality of clinical and translational research. The Georgia CTSA is one of 64 medical research institutions located throughout the nation.

Communications List of Duties:

• Help execute and fulfill Georgia CTSA Strategic Communications Plan tactics

• Collateral material (print, signage, exhibit, etc.) planning, coordination, and creation with vendors and programs

• Support research recruitment promotional efforts

• Meeting/event/exhibit support

• Organization chart maintenance

• Online service request customer/program follow-up

• Web calendar maintenance

• Assist with small graphic design projects

• Maintain photo archive

• Serve as ResearchMatch communications liaison

• Using Cascade (website content management system) to maintain website text consistency

• Draft success stories for website featuring Georgia CTSA investigators, scholars/trainees, partner institutions, science advances, etc.

• Social media account maintenance

• Maintain four internal and external promotional listservs

• Sponsored Account maintenance

• Other duties as assigned, administrative tasks

• Data entry, database management, and report preparation
