The division of Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) and Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a pediatric heart failure and transplant cardiologist to join our faculty and Advanced Cardiac Therapies team. Applicants should have formal training in pediatric heart failure, cardiomyopathies, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation and must be board certified/eligible in pediatric cardiology. Applicants currently in advanced training are welcome to apply.

The Advanced Cardiac Therapies program at CHOA provides innovative and comprehensive care for children and families affected by advanced heart failure and cardiomyopathy. Our program has performed over 400 heart transplants since inception in 1988 and continues to perform, on average, 16 heart transplants per year. Our mechanical circulatory support program includes multiple modalities.

As one of the busiest programs in the country, our program participates in many multi-center research studies well as participation in many important registries/databases.

Our multidisciplinary team includes three heart failure/transplant cardiologists, three primary transplant/VAD cardiothoracic surgeons; four nurse practitioners, three transplant pharmacists, a dedicated social worker and psychologist, transplant nurse coordinators, a Heart Failure / VAD coordinator, and cardiac genetic counselors.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is the largest pediatric cardiac program in the Southeast and one of the top five largest pediatric heart centers in the nation. The new Arthur M. Blank Children’s Hospital will open in the Fall of 2024 giving the Heart Center expanded capabilities with the latest technology.
