Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills, to include front line communications (email, phone, in person), correspondence, marketing and in-person and webinar presentations are paramount as well as a knowledge of customer service.
Knowledge of technology and advanced skills with Microsoft Office required.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, and social media are strongly preferred.
Willingness to learn and/or ability to use University and program specific software and applications is needed.
Experience with event planning required.
Experience with application and selection processes, marketing, and data collection, tracking, analysis and reporting needed.
Experience with hiring and onboarding/orienting strongly preferred.
Primary duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.
Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.
Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.
Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.
Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.
Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.
May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.
Prepares operational and statistical reports.
Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.
May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
This is not an administrative support position.
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

The Emory Scholars Program (ESP) is responsible for selection of Scholars grounded in the Scholar qualities of intellectual curiosity, creative thinking, servant leadership, communication skills and commitment to community. The program helps support student growth and giving via student empowerment, programming, and special application-based opportunities, and faculty and alumni engagement as described on our website: http://college.emory.edu/scholars. The ESP employs Scholar Fellows (student staff) responsible for planning and implementing small-scale events, helping with communication efforts, being Program ambassadors and peer Scholar mentors, and maintaining the Scholars Lounge. The ESP provides enhanced academic advising and staff work with students to support skill building as it relates to personal and professional development goals to prepare for the post-graduate education admissions process, careers, or other post-graduate plans. Scholars complete end of semester reports and must meet other expectations, including growing and giving of their Scholar qualities and other talents, participating in ESP events and activities, advising meetings, Emory Cares Day, and other requirements for membership and scholarship renewal.
The Emory Scholars Program Program Coordinator (PC) will provide support to the Emory Scholars Program (ESP) as well as to the ESP full-time staff (director, associate director and assistant director) and part-time student staff (6 – 8 Scholar Fellows). The ESP PC will independently and in collaboration with other ESP staff and/or partner offices staff organize, coordinate, and plan operational facets of Program elements such as, but not limited to:
• Large and small-scale event and conference planning & management
• Scholar and Scholar Fellow application, selection, awarding/hiring, scheduling, and onboarding
• Program expenditures and donations monitoring, expense report and supporting documents preparation and monitoring, and monthly, annual, and other budget reporting and analysis, including projections.
• Data collection mapping and planning, tracking/collection, analysis and reporting using a variety of software tools (OPUS, AWA, ASST, Excel, Access, Org Sync, Canvas, Smartsheet, Surveymonkey, Wufoo, etc.)
• Scholar status checks (Scholar reports, GPA, program requirements, conduct and honor code)
• Special opportunity application, selection, awarding, program planning & implementation, and assessment
• Office and Scholar Lounge equipment, supplies, and facilities monitoring, support and/or management
• Communications and marketing efforts such as 1:1, small and large group presentations and webinars, emails, newsletters, letters, annual reports, website, flyers, brochures, handbooks, intranet, social media, video, etc.
The ESP PC will provide customer service to engage and meet the needs of students, alumni, faculty, staff and internal and external stakeholders and partners. The ESP PC will build links with, make referrals to, request data from or provide data to, and may serve as a liaison to or collaborator with other university offices and support services. The ESP PC will answer the ESP telephone, manage general ESP email, and provide support to and fill-in as needed for the student staff who staff the front desk and handle walk-in traffic during the academic year. The ESP PC will perform additional tasks as the program grows/changes to meet student needs.
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 5:30PM. Some non-traditional hours will be required for events during occasional evenings and weekends including overnights. Occasionally, activities may take place on the Oxford Campus.
