Job Description:


  • Plans, directs and evaluates administrative and technical services for the Laboratory.

  • Directs daily staff activities to ensure a high quality of service.

  • Assists in the development of the department¿s budget, policies, and procedures.

  • May hire, supervise laboratory staff and conduct staff evaluations.

  • Will assist in inventory control, expense management and strategic planning.

  • In conjunction with investigators and staff, will develop protocol and specialized procedures for unique tests.

  • Ensures compliance with standards and requirements established by regulatory and certifying agencies.

  • Works with department leaders and staff to continuously improve laboratory operations and promote efficiency.

  • Interface with clinical disciplines that interact with lab and receive lab services.

  • Monitors laboratory operations and oversees caseload management.

  • Develops laboratory policies and procedures and reviews quality control activities to comply with regulatory guidelines.

  • Reviews all new protocols submitted to Scientific Advisory Committee for lab resource requests.

  • Evaluates resource requests to ensure appropriate lab processing and storage protocols can be met.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


  • A bachelor's degree in business or related field. Five years of professional experience in a related field such as business administration, research, or information systems management.

  • Requires previous supervisory and program/project management experience.
