Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine

Academic Cytopathologist

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time academic position in Cytopathology based at Emory University Hospital, a large public academic hospital that serves Atlanta and the surrounding community.

We seek a non-tenure track pathologist at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to join an interactive, collegial group of faculty who evaluate a wide variety of cytologic and surgical specimens. Emory University has one of the largest AP/CP residencies in the country, 12 accredited subspecialty fellowships including cytopathology, and close ties to the NCI-designated Winship Cancer Center, creating abundant opportunities for clinical and translational scholarship and teaching (see www.pathology.emory.edu).

Applicants must hold MD or MD/PhD degrees and be board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology. Applicants must also be eligible for medical licensure in Georgia. The position will be a mix of surgical pathology and cytopathology with the expectation that the successful candidate will assist the division with regulatory aspects of cytopathology. Fellowship training in cytopathology is required. Training in ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration is a plus and fellowship training in a surgical pathology subspecialty is preferred. Compensation and faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

Please complete the online application and include your CV, cover letter and list of references. Please direct inquiries to Elizabeth M. Genega, MD, care of Marcie Ansari at marcie.m.ansari@emory.edu .
