JOB DESCRIPTION: Directs the strategic planning, development, and implementation of program. Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies. Represents the program in various national and international fora. Conducts research, designs new initiatives, writes publishable articles and papers, collaborates with others, and designs programs. May supervise staff.

Experience in the development of on-line educational and programmatic resources and experience managing large IT development contracts
Experience leading large projects or programs with multidisciplinary teams and internal and external collaborators
Background in program development and/or research study management
Experience with work related to HIV and sexual minorities
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a good working relationship on team and across multisite programs or studies
Key Job Functions
This position will lead an IT development initiative as part of the Emory COMPASS Initiative and work directly with a third party IT vendor to design, develop and support an online information portal as a tool to support capacity building activities with community-based organizations across the U.S. South. The portal will be used to share best practices, new knowledge, tools and resources for use in the field and for public dissemination. The portal will also serve as a community grants application, administration and evaluation mechanism for community grant awards totaling nearly $2 million per year for three years. This position will direct activities to test versions of the portal during the development phase, to conduct portal use surveys with users after the portal is launched, and to evaluate the effectiveness of capacity building assistance provided by the Emory Compass Program and the other two COMPASS Program Centers based at the Southern AIDS Coalition and the University of Houston.
The Emory COMPASS Program is designed to support organizational capacity building through grant making, training and technical assistance, and evaluation. Additional activities include the development and management of an online information portal as a tool to support capacity building activities and for community organizations to share best practices, new knowledge, tools and resources for use in the field and for public dissemination. The goal of the Emory COMPASS Initiative is to create sustainable organizational capacity among HIV/AIDS service organizations in the U.S. South that shrinks service deserts, improves access to high quality services, nurtures the development of organizations that are of the community and responsive to community needs, and leaves organizational partners stronger and more resilient because of our shared work.
