Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Advises students and parents regarding the availability of financial aid, eligibility requirements, and the application and awarding process.

  • Evaluates applications and other documentation to determine need. Awards financial aid within appropriate guidelines and regulations.

  • Administers related policies and procedures. Monitors compliance with federal and state regulations governing student aid.

  • Develops programs related to functional processes. Represents the department on various committees.

  • May manage student employment, loan processing, recruitment, support staff or special programs.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

  • Works closely with Admissions, Student Affairs and Office of Multicultural Affairs

  • Oversees scholarship budgets and awards for medical and allied health students.

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates all medical student and allied health financial aid orientations.

  • Provides reports to SOM leadership on statistics, trends and forecasts for scholarship spending

  • May supervise administrative support employees.

  • Must be proficient in Excel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and three years of financial aid or related financial experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to return to an Emory University location in the future. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
