Leads complex work associated with conflict of interest (COI) and conflict of commitment (COC) that impacts faculty, staff and other key stakeholders.
Reviews faculty and staff financial relationships outside the university and related to research; researches complex business relationships and transactions; prepares cases for review by committee members; communicates plans and objectives with faculty and staff; and provides expertise for resolution of complex research and regulatory issues.
Encourages a positive culture of compliance and represents the office/unit on university committees.
Provides training to faculty, staff, and COI committee members regarding management of financial interests related to research.
Working with key stakeholders, leads a university-wide implementation of new recommendations related to COC including, drafting a university-wide policy, creating new processes and revising existing processes.
Builds capacity among COC approvers and reviewers; educates and trains COC approvers and disclosers; develops and implements a university-wide communication plan.
Monitors federal regulations, assesses impact and proactively plans and coordinates EmoryÂ¿s response.
Contributes to the development of the university-wide Research Security Program by working with the RSIC Committee and other working groups.
Leads the analysis and generation of recommendations for subsets of the committee.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
Bachelor's degree and six years of conflict of interest or related program administration experience.
JD or master's degree preferred.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to return to an Emory University location in the future. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
