Description

The Department of Surgery of Emory University School of Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia, is actively seeking a fellowship-trained board-eligible critical care physician with core training in either anesthesia, emergency medicine, pulmonary medicine, or surgery at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor academic ranks. This will be a full-time position with the Grady Health System Acute Care Surgery Service and an academic Emory School of Medicine appointment. If the candidate is not trained in surgery, the candidate should have experience in surgical intensive care and an interest in providing care in a surgical intensive care unit. The position is 100% surgical critical care (inclusive of trauma, surgical disciplines, and cardiovascular patients). The identified individual will join a team of 14 acute care surgeons and 3 additional non-surgical critical care physicians. Emory and Grady believe that to optimize a clinical workforce, diversity is critical component of that team. As such, we prioritize the recruitment and inclusion of individuals who contribute to our diversity in all ways and welcome the inclusion of applicants from groups underrepresented in medicine. We aspire for our team to reflect the diverse population of individuals in our community to whom we provide care.

Clinical responsibilities include the provision of care in the surgical intensive care units (trauma ICU, general surgical/oncologic ICU, cardiovascular ICU) at Grady Memorial Hospital, an ACS verified Level I Trauma Center responsible for a population of 5,000,000 in northwest Georgia.
