The Emory University School of Medicine Department of Urology seeks to hire one full-time fellowship-trained urologist to join the Emory Urology faculty practice in Atlanta, GA. This faculty member will have an appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor in the Emory School of Medicine.
This position will practice at the Atlanta VAMC and Emory University Hospital. The successful candidate will be expected to have expertise enabling them to manage complex urological conditions as well as the ability to perform minimum invasive surgical robotic surgery independently. The ideal candidate will be a clinician scholar who will be expected to compete for federal research funding and collaborate with colleagues to expand research, teaching, and cancer care programs at Emory Urology.
Emory Urology has expanded in recent years to become one of the largest academic urology practice groups in the United States, with 30 faculty supported by 17 Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants, who care for a large internal referral base from within the Emory network as well as across Georgia and neighboring states, providing over 40,000 urology patient encounters annually. The research enterprise of Emory Urology ranks among the top 10 in NIH funding among urology departments nationwide. Atlanta, Georgia continues to thrive as an area rich in culture and opportunity.
General Qualifications :
Board-certified/eligible urologist who must have completed an ACGME urology residency.
Candidates must have completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology or minimally invasive urology
Must be eligible for an unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia and possess or obtain a controlled Substance Registration Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate.
Demonstrate interest and expertise in urological research
