Emory University’s Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics offers highly competitive fellowship training opportunities in multiple subspecialty areas of gynecology and obstetrics. The department is recognized as a leader in innovative team-based teaching methods and novel educational opportunities and is offering a challenging career opportunity for a qualified individual to serve as the Associate Director for Fellowship Programs for its subspecialty clinical fellowship programs.

The Associate Director for Fellowship Programs:

  • Partners with educational program leaders to create, maintain, and promote the Department’s innovative and high quality programs in subspecialty medical education including but not limited to Complex Family Planning, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Advanced Pelvic Surgery, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Lower Anogenital Screening and Treatment.

  • Designs, implements, and coordinates operational facets of subspecialty graduate medical education programs in collaboration with multispecialty physician leaders that encompasses the following areas, programs administration, evaluation, human resources including recruitment and credentialing, program accreditation, information technology, and finance.

  • Maintains collaborative relationships with fellowship program directors, representatives of the School’s Graduate Medical Education Office.

  • Participates in ongoing professional development activities.

  • Coordinates day-to-day program activities in alignment with the expectations of the Department, Office of Graduate Medical Education and associated external credentialing bodies.

  • Coordinates all human resource activities in accordance with university offices (EOP, SOM, GME, HR) related to fellowship recruitment, onboarding, and reappointments of fellows, including creating job opportunity postings and completing search activity reports.

  • Plans, administers, and monitors the program's budget and/or grants.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Directs the strategic planning, development, and implementation of program.

  • Collaborates with representatives from private, government, and international agencies.

  • Represents the program in various national and international fora.

  • Conducts research, designs new initiatives, writes publishable articles and papers, collaborates with others, and designs programs.

  • May supervise staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in field related to specific program as indicated and five years program related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

  • Master's degree preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a similar setting is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be collaborative and able to function independently and manage multiple responsibilities.

  • Evidence of excellent organizational, time management, and computer skills is required.

  • Evidence of partnerships and collaboration with multiple education program leaders.

  • Documented evidence of excellent written and verbal communication is required.

  • A Master’s degree in education, health education, or health administration is strongly preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
