Rollins School of Public Health’s Career Development team seeks an Associate Director to develop, evaluate and implement employer recruitment and outreach efforts for the school. This position will manage a team that handles Rollins’ experiential learning programs (Applied Practice Experience, Rollins Earn and Learn, and Global Field Experience).

In collaboration with career development leadership, develop a strategic outreach plan which includes analyzing recent graduate employment data; demographic student and alumni employment data; creating an annual employer recruitment report; and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of initiatives.   • Serves as a leader within the Career Center with primary focus on planning, implementing, evaluating and directing all activities related to the provision of recruiting and employer/parent/alumni relationship building within a particular school of the university including on-campus recruiting activities, the marketing and administration of related internship programs, and career guidance and counseling services

  • Serves as the primary point person and lead for coordinating all recruiting activities across all university colleges and schools

  • Provides information to students on topics that affect career opportunities and advancement such as job opportunities, job search strategies, educational and training opportunities, occupational outlook information, career enhancement materials and resume writing

  • Manages the development and maintenance of computerized information systems that support student placement efforts

  • Directs the interviewing program for students in a particular school

  • Oversees the development of internship programs to provide students with real world experience in their field of expertise

  • Develops and maintains relationships with hiring representatives from potential employers of university graduates

  • Coordinates events in which potential employers can discuss employment and career opportunities

  • Creates marketing strategies to increase student and employer awareness of and participation in career services programs

  • Engage through informal and formal presentations to alumni, students, community groups or professional organizations

  • Assists students in developing resumes

  • Conducts workshops and programs on career planning and placement topics

  • Ensures the preparation of operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies

  • Plans, administers and monitors the department's recruiting budget

  • Establishes and administers departmental policies and procedures focusing on recruiting, employer interactions, and interviewing

  • Maintains professional growth and the professional development of staff by participating in educational programs and professional organizations and activities to maintain knowledge of national trends in the career services field

  • Hires, trains and supervises recruiting team staff. Performs related responsibilities as required


  • Offer career advice to students and alumni (approximately 10-15% during peak season)

  • Develop and implement marketing materials to include but not limited to email communication campaigns, website and social media to students, current and prospective employers

  • Engage existing employer relationships and expand employer outreach to meet the demands of Rollins School of Public Health's diverse graduate student population

  • In collaboration with career development leadership, manage, plan and evaluate recruitment events including two Career Fairs, employer information sessions and interviews

  • Collaborate with colleagues throughout the school to assist in establishing the direction and priorities for employee recruitment

  • Key collaborators include the departmental academic advisors, admissions and recruitment, alumni affairs (both RSPH and University), faculty and alumni

  • Plan and execute campus and office interviews

  • This may include creating interview schedules, and developing supporting materials, working with office managers to secure interview space and catering as well as greeting employers and students

  • Supervise a team of student ambassadors


  • A Master's degree in student personnel and higher education or a related field, and three years of experience in career planning and placement, employer development, recruiting operations, or a related field


  • Cover letter and resume

  • An advanced degree in public health (MPH/MSPH), higher education administration or a related field and five years of experience in recruitment/partnership development

  • A proven record of managing teams successfully

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and shift through projects quickly without sacrificing quality

  • Demonstrated experience and success in collaborating with internal teams and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams

  • Experience developing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Outstanding customer service skills and experience working with employers from federal, state and local government, not-for profit organizations, healthcare systems, academic clients and private industry

  • Some experience in strategic planning and data driven decision making

  • Creative thinking with ideas for business growth and process improvement

  • Excellent event management skills, particularly with large-scale events (120+ participants or more) and student group partner events

  • Exceptional communication skills as demonstrated in presentation style and writing

  • Ability to represent the Office of Career Development in presentations to new employers and community partner

  • Knowledge of customer relations management and other event/information/career management software such as Salesforce, Slate, C3M, 12Twenty, VMock, FirstHand, Career Fair App, and Survey Monkey.Technical proficiency in MS Office, including Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work occasional evenings, some weekends during academic year
