Description

The Associate Director for Returning Student Programs is charged with developing and implementing a class-based programming strategy for continuing Emory undergraduate students (2nd, 3rd, and 4th years). In collaboration with colleagues across undergraduate serving schools, colleges, and units, this position will create, plan, and execute large-scale events for cohorts of students returning to Emory. THIS IS A TIME LIMITED, BENEFITS ELIGIBLE 2 YEAR APPOINTMENT.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The purpose of the events is to welcome students (back) to campus, build community and connections within class cohorts, remind of/share campus resources, and assist students with adapting to new campus protocols for the academic year.

  • Plans and executes class cohort events during the first six weeks of the semester with input from Re-boarding committee (who have institutional knowledge).

  • Adheres to community compact/COVID guidelines.

  • Oversee budgets, space reservations, food plans, and swag orders.

  • Works with units and schools to collect programs/events occurring throughout the academic year.

  • Works with communication liaisons to promote events and coordinate messaging.

  • Assesses event success and attendance; tracks figured to connect with retention/graduation rates at a later time.

  • Seeks recommendations for which events should continue annually.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A master's degree in student affairs, higher education administration, or college student personnel, and four years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Experience supervising professional staff is preferred.

  • Experience managing large scale events and meetings, reservation software, and client services is preferred.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
