JOB DESCRIPTION: Manages the on-campus recruiting program for a school or division. Develops the overall recruitment strategy. Establishes and maintains corporate contacts with directors, human resources managers and vice presidents. Serves as the primary liaison between corporate recruiters, students and the career center. Determines employer needs and manages the logistics of the on-campus recruiting program including interviews, corporate presentations and job fairs. Resolves space, equipment and scheduling issues. Develops strategies to ensure effective communication between students, recruiters and the career center. Prepares statistical reports to track student placements and other trends. Manages web based student software that communicates on-campus recruiting information to students. Coordinates special projects as necessary. Supervises student staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree. Two years of experience in career planning and placement or a related field.

Additional Details

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Diversity Initiatives, the Asst. Dir of Career Services will provide career counseling to students and alumni, to assist with their career planning needs and the implementation of their career plans. This position will also provide leadership and assistance in the planning, coordination, and measurement of career services, programs, and events. The Career Services Manager will act as the liaison to the University’s Career Center and will collaborate with faculty to develop and implement programs for students focused on career exploration and preparation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provides career planning counseling to students (and alumni when appropriate), including choosing a specialty, career exploration, and job search.

  • Collaborates with faculty and staff in developing and providing career exploration, employment workshops, and specific programming for students.

  • Manages employment surveys and reporting to the School of Nursing and all external sources using Department of Education guidelines

  • Advises students (and alumni when appropriate) regarding the job search process including resume writing, interviewing, and job search strategies.

  • Support students with disabilities and diversity by keeping updated on counseling methods and appropriate career- related resources - including career assessment inventory programs.

  • Manages relationships with the University Office of Career Services, Emory Healthcare Department of Human Resources, and health care recruiters across the nation.

  • Serves as employer relations liaison for School of Nursing; establishes connections with potential employers and external companies/organizations.

  • Participates in university orientations and events.

  • Creates promotional materials: including flyers, handouts, forms and posters related to career services.

  • Distribute electronic messages to promote events to students and recruiters.

  • Maintains school job board postings and oversee Handshake system on behalf of the School of Nursing

  • Assists with researching new career-related technology and software as appropriate.

  • Assists with organization and maintenance of career resources for students.

  • Performs related duties as assigned or required to meet Career Services and University goals and objectives.

  • Manages the work of student employees who are dedicated to providing Career Services support.
