Description

Reporting to the Electronic Security System Manager within the Emory Police Department, this position is responsible for installation, service, repair and maintenance of computer-based integrated electronic security and control systems including electronic access control systems, CCTV systems, alarm systems and other supportive devices.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides project management coordination through Emory shops and/or outside contractors.

  • Interprets building blue prints and works with the Emory design team in programming new construction requirements.

  • Ensures warranty compliance for new installations.

  • Works with customer department representatives to provide security and safety recommendations.

  • Trains staff on the proper use of equipment.

  • Maintains electronic security system records and files.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience working with electronic security system installation, operations, maintenance, and management; comprehensive knowledge of security camera systems, card access systems, and intrusion alarm systems; familiar with the application of electronic technology to law enforcement; comprehensive skills in the installation, operation and maintenance of security systems; knowledge of the evaluation of construction blueprints; familiar with network video recorders and local digital video recorders; familiar with electric lock hardware installation.

  • Low voltage electrical license desired.

  • A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record are required.

  • Positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
