The Department of Equity and Civil Rights Compliance (DECRC) Case Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of case files and records according to Emory's Equal Opportunity and Discriminatory Harassment Policy. The incumbent will effectively manage investigative case files, complaint forms, and investigatory correspondence.

The duties of this position are primarily comprised of three areas: case management, records management, and investigative support

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Reviews and monitors incidents of harassment and discrimination in the case management system, ensuring each incident has the required documentation and all necessary information uploaded to contact reporters and initiate the investigative process.

  • Reviews and monitors filed complaints cases in the case management system in a timely manner, ensuring case files are maintained confidentially and all supporting documentation is received and secured promptly.

  • Assists with creating, developing, or generating complaint trend data reports using case management system reporting features.

  • Serves as lead technical support for the DECRC case management system.

  • Coordinates case management training & refreshers for DECRC staff as needed with the case management system client manager.

  • Collaborates with the Emory IT liaison and the case management system's client manager to troubleshoot issues and implement complex system modifications.

  • Facilitates routine system testing and updates to reporting analytics, templates, reports, forms, and picklists.

  • Reviews and retrieves historical case reports and records to ensure accuracy and completion of all case files.

  • Controls system access points by managing login credentials and user profiles in the case management system.

  • Updates case files and documents all sanctions, investigative findings, and recommendations for every case at the conclusion of the investigative process.

  • Retrieves and assembles case files for DECRC and the Office of General Counsel (OGC) upon request.

  • Creates and updates internal filing protocols as needed.

  • Organizes folders and files and updates the DECRC staff regarding significant changes or complaint management modifications.

  • Responds to the DECRC staff records management questions and training new staff members on records management protocols.

  • Assists investigators with collating investigatory exhibits, investigatory supportive documentation, and completing investigative report redactions as needed.

  • Coordinates and schedules investigatory intake meetings and department debriefings upon request.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of specialization and two years of relevant professional experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal studies or Paralegal certification is preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
