The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences (Radiology) at Emory University School of Medicine seeks a Chief of Service (COS) for Radiology at Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH). The Radiology COS serves as a physician leader for all medical imaging and professional practice matters at EJCH. The Radiology COS at EJCH works closely with the Vice Chair, Clinical Affairs to coordinate operational, quality, and management matters across Emory Healthcare. A brief position summary and scope of duties follows.
Position Summary for COS at EJCH
Spends at least 60% of clinical effort at EJCH
Provides administrative, clinical, and programmatic leadership on behalf of Radiology at EJCH to ensure that strategic goals and key performance measures are achieved
Ensures high quality service to our patients, families, and referring providers at EJCH
Supports and facilitates professional activities at EJCH related to the research and educational missions
In partnership with the Director of Imaging Services, coordinates operational, strategic and administrative decisions as they pertain to the imaging practice at EJCH and any satellite imaging centers
Serves as a liaison to clinical partners and hospital administration at EJCH, effectively managing key relationships, particularly with the CEO, COO, CMO and Chief of Staff of EJCH
Actively participates on relevant committees at the hospital and department levels
Advocates for Radiology faculty, staff and trainees and facilitates interdisciplinary collaborations
Works closely with other department administrative leaders on a variety of business matters, including but not limited to: provider credentialing, imaging quality and patient safety, information technology, operating budgets and capital planning
MD or DO, ABR Board-certified/eligible and eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
Fellowship training is preferred but not required for the position
Minimum of 5 years or equivalent leadership experience, including radiology operations, quality improvement, and/or clinical service delivery

Emory Johns Creek Hospital
Emory Johns Creek Hospital is a 110-bed (and growing) all private-room community hospital in Johns Creek, Georgia, within the Greater Atlanta area. Emory Johns Creek Hospital opened in February of 2007 and features a medical staff comprised of community and Emory faculty physicians of more than 600 doctors who offer a comprehensive range of services, from advanced diagnostic and interventional radiology, and surgery, bariatrics, cardiology, vascular medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, and oncology. It is the only adult Diagnostic Center of Excellence (DiCOE) in Georgia and supports award winning centers and programs that advance the science of medicine while providing outstanding patient care.
The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is comprised of over 200 radiologists and services both the Atlanta metro area as well as the greater Atlanta area. EJCH is part of a larger network of Emory-associated community hospitals which are primarily served by the Community Radiologist Specialist (CRS) division. Subspecialty IR, mammography and nuclear medicine divisions also provide onsite staffing at EJCH.
