Emory Healthcare Clinical Informatics Specialist II in Atlanta, Georgia


Develops and delivers training related to the implementation and support for EeMR applications or systems in both inpatient and outpatient arenas. Assists training program manager in establishing educational goals and plans regarding clinical applications for the department/clinic, for a specific group of employees, or a single employee with educational needs. Supports physicians, NPs, PAs, health care workers, affiliates, NP/PA students, medical students, and partners by providing continuous support, troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities for clinical information system improvements. Performs workflow analysis of current system functions and evaluates potential future systems for their technical and operational fit. Conducts testing of clinical information systems prior to upgrades and new technical build. Conduct needs and skills assessments for end users to determine the type and duration of training needed for two or more clinical applications from Cerner Millennium suite. Combines subjective interviews with objective data to create comprehensive picture of learner's needs. Makes decisions, under manager's supervision, on new or updated training curriculum for two or more applications. Provides classroom and/or 1:1 training in health information systems for two or more clinical applications from Cerner Millennium suite. Under managers supervision, organizes and delivers training for specific groups with customized curriculums and training materials. Develops training material (how to guides, videos, new curriculum, assessment quizzes, etc.) related to the implementation and support for two or more clinical applications from Cerner Millennium suite. With some supervision, leads a small team in analysis and implementation of updates and changes needed to existing training material based on future projects. Acts as a subject matter expert for one or more applications, workflows, or processes at Emory Healthcare. Collaborates with the technical, clinical, and management teams in evaluating production support issues and new technical designs. Performs testing to recreate issues as well as validation of solutions. Provide end-user support for 8HELP training related tickets. Prompt response to 8HELP tickets as well end-user issues, questions, and concerns. Performs current state workflow analysis, participates in design of solutions to new requests, defines future state workflows, and acts as a subject matter expert to implement solutions for one or more clinical application from Cerner Millennium suite. Will help in defining solutions that have a financial impact on the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires an associate's degree in informatics, IT, related field or alternatively, 3 or more years in a clinical role. Four years of experience in the area of providing application level education, support, workflow, and testing under supervision with some independent work. Proficiency in two or more clinical applications from Cerner Millennium suite.

Additional Details

2-3 years of experience working in Oncology unit in hospital or clinic setting. Alternatively, 3 or more years recent experience guiding, coaching and coordinating Clinical Informatics activities in the achievement of department and project goals.
