Research Projects, Research Programs andMentorship Programs

  • Be the primary person for the creation, development, management and update of all research study and program websites/platforms for core PIs in our immediate group. This includes:

  • Designs and creates intuitive and applicable user experiences through the website using graphic design and user interface development for websites and social media applications.

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate communications strategies essential to the management of research projects conducted at our site for multiple NIH funded research and training grants.

  • Supports the writing, editing, and designing of communications and the subsequent dissemination of the research results and information on the website and social media platforms.

  • Generate original ideas for materials that will promote research opportunities/programs and career development programs led by PIs at our site.

  • Continually keeps the target audiences and stakeholders engaged by studying leading practices and emerging trends for social media engagement.

  • Increase the Social Media Presence for each research study and program – create and manage accounts, as well as the information disseminated.

  • Be the primary person for the operational and implementation/development of all virtual events hosted on platforms such as Zoom, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc. – all with Institutional and IRB approval. This includes being present at the events for any technical or other troubleshooting needs.

  • Graphical images and the translation of data into an image form that attracts the reader and presents the information clearly and succinctly. The dissemination of information involves working with the PIs/Lead CRCs/PDs for translating the science into lay language.

  • Collaborate with the Recruitment Retention CRC, Study specific Lead CRCs to contribute or assist with electronic and hard copy print materials (pages in publication like Emory Magazine, study flyers etc.).

  • Actively work and collaborate on community engagement activities that may and may not be aligned with CBOs.

  • Attend meetings: Recruitment-Retention, Team, CAB and programmatic meetings such as SCORE and BIRCHW research in progress meetings, to gather and share the information via content via social media platforms and update websites as applicable.

  • Assist in the electronic/virtual communication needs for special events, training workshops, and online courses as needed for the Research Programs.

  • Collaborate with the Recruitment Retention CRC for MWCCS and contribute or assist with the continued development and updates with the newsletter. This includes assisting other team/project driven leads with the development and posting of newsletters specific to other Research and Training Programs such as SCORE, STAR, BIRCHW, Emory-Nigeria HIV Research Training Program (D43), IeDEA, PASC etc..

  • Record and/or photograph special events (if knowledgeable) or use images captured to create videos for webpages. ( Requires some level of compliance oversight ).

  • Be the point person/software ‘superuser’ on our team (individuals who take extra time to get to know a certain platform and can help other team members with tips when they are using and provide the help/support for any questions etc.

Overall, the position involves the creation, development, application and build-out of Research and Programmatic-based communications using the web and all applicable multimedia, virtual, electronic tools. It also involved the use of popular social media platforms to build on social media needs and all activities that fall under an overarching goal to build a successful brand of our team’s Research and Programmatic activities. Successful candidates must understand the importance of market segmentation in marketing, KPIs and other metrics to gauge success the outreach and success of the marketing campaigns and communications.

For MACS/WIHS Combined Cohort Studies (MWCCS) they will collaborate closely with the PIs, the Recruitment Retention team Lead, MWCCS Project Director and other members of the recruitment retention committee, depending on the deliverable items.

The position cuts across several projects and requires communication and collaborative within the group. The PI is Dr. Ofotokun.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Consults with management and staff to design, develop and maintain a website.

  • Develops, writes and edits various communications materials including correspondence, newsletters, brochures and articles.

  • Develops and maintains effective methods for distributing communication materials and information.

  • Maintains required record-keeping and documentation.

  • May train staff in the use of communications technology.

  • May utilize various aspects of social media to accomplish work objectives.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
