Emory University College Intern - LITS: Network/App Monitoring in Atlanta, Georgia
We are interested in 2 Interns with IT/Computer Science or drafting/architectural skills to help build wireless (Wi-Fi) networking maps as part of the Visual RF capability in our Airwave wireless management suite. Interns will import, size, and deploy wireless maps based on survey data to enable service coverage and user location mapping across all Emory managed wireless networks. We have a one-time effort that follows our upcoming deployment of Airwave wireless monitoring software. This effort will be complete once all of the maps are imported and updated with the relevant wireless data.
Import and scale floor plans/site maps
Place Wireless APs on maps to enable service coverage mapping
Verify/troubleshoot wireless coverage based on data point
Go to sites/buildings and participate in site surveys to verify/update the locations of wireless access points
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under direct or general supervision, performs a variety of tasks requiring limited independent judgment. May research, compile and prepare routine or ad-hoc reports. May research and maintain records, files and logs. May initiate or maintain contact with customers, vendors or contractors and respond to, research and resolve inquiries of a routine nature. May organize meetings or other venues and arrange for logistical needs such as set up, handouts, reports, speakers and clean up. May assist in developing, implementing and managing programs or projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled as an undergraduate in a college or university offering a four year degree. Completion of freshman year or higher and in good academic standing. College transcripts required as part of interview process.
Computer Science or Architecture/Drafting background preferred
