Emory University Communications & Marketing Office (C&M) is offering internship opportunities for summer 2023. C&M’s experience-focused internship program provides students and recent graduates with opportunities to hone their professional skills and network across the Emory enterprise.
SCHEDULE & PAY:
This position is 20-hours/week
Payrate of $13/hour
Flexible times, Starting May 9, 2023 through August 18, 2023.
SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Ideal candidates are eager to learn and will serve as an integral part of the C&M team.
Excited to share fresh, student-focused perspectives; they demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills
Will display a sharp attention to detail
Exhibit professionalism while contributing to a collaborative team spirit.
Hybrid Remote: In-person/remote-virtual work schedules will be tailored based on each individual's needs at the beginning of each semester.
Summer interns who live locally and are not taking summer courses may be expected to participate more in-person, doing project work.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write articles, press releases, strategic communications plans, digital content, and more
Edit a wide range of content according to AP Style
Pitch media outlets and assist with media visits to campus
Design templates for social media, digital content, and presentations
Support production and editing process for video and photo content
Post content to websites, online calendars and email newsletters
Offer fresh perspectives on creative direction of project work
Participate in brainstorming sessions
Demonstrate the ability to manage projects effectively against tight deadlines
Contribute to positive outcomes for day-to-day project work
Support university events
Engage with professional development opportunities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be available to commit 20 hours per week during the summer 2023 semester
Working toward or recently completed a B.S., B.A., M.A. or M.S. degree with a 3.0 minimum GPA
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Strong relationship building and client service skills
Careful attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience with social and earned media and ability to monitor both
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including adeptness in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Positive and professional attitude
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with digital platforms and tools such as Salesforce, Cascade, Sprout Social, Google Analytics and Wrike
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (PhotoShop, InDesign, Premier Pro, Illustrator specifically)
Experience with photo and video software applications for social media and digital publishing using Adobe Creative Cloud
Knowledge of graphic design and platforms such as Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
