The Office of Marketing & Communication supports Emory Law’s strategic initiatives by developing and executing on-trend marketing and communication plans that increase the profile of the school among its various constituencies.

JOB ROLE

The role of the communication specialist is to support recruitment-focused marketing efforts, working with the admission team to execute marketing strategies and tactics that help the institution matriculate qualified candidates for the school’s degree programs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with manager and admission team to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communication plan that supports recruitment and on-boarding efforts for all degree programs.

  • Plan, create, write, implement, and track all digital marketing initiatives and CRM-based communication efforts such as e-mail campaigns (>300/yr), webinars (2-4/yr) and social media (FB, Instagram, Twitter), within the broader digital and social media framework of the law school.

  • Help implement recruitment content strategy, ensuring consistent, engaging, and accurate messaging across all channels. Develop, write, and edit content for printed and digital communications, across a range of platforms.

  • Assist in arranging and executing photography and video projects, working with both students and freelance photographers/videographers.

  • Responsible for status tracking, using project management tools on assigned client projects, to help ensure they are started and finished in a timely manner and on-budget.

  • Other duties as needed, which may include assistance with event staffing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 years of related marketing/communications experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Skilled in writing, editing, and proofreading; knowledgeable in Chicago and/or AP style.

  • Strong project management, organization, attention to detail, and time management.

  • Self-starter, with proven ability to work independently with limited direction.

  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

  • Experienced in the use of e-communications platforms (such as MailChimp) and social media platforms (such as Hootsuite). Experience with a CRM system a plus.

  • Experience in the use of content management systems to update websites (EL website is on Cascade platform). HTML knowledge a plus.

  • Experience in the evaluation of design for communications materials. Experience in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and AcrobatPro) a plus.

ORGANIZATIONAL LEVEL (reporting structure within department/division)

Reports to Marketing Manager.
