The Corporate Accounts Manager is responsible for generating revenue by maintaining existing business and closing new business. Critical duties include market research, identifying training needs for various industries, developing sales strategies, assessing client needs, conducting sales presentations, and creating proposals.


  • Responsible for developing strong relationships with customers of Emory Continuing Education, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders to determine curriculum needs, preparing proposals, and preparing sales reports

  • Oversees a portfolio of assigned customers, develops new business from existing clients and actively seeks new sales opportunities to maximize profit

  • Liaises with cross-functional internal teams (including Instructors, subject matter experts, open enrollment staff, curriculum development staff, and enrollment services staff) to improve the entire customer experience

  • Collaborates with the Director of Business Development to achieve quotas while keeping clients satisfied and engaged with our services

  • Serves as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters

  • Negotiates contracts and closes agreements to maximize profits

  • Ensures the timely and successful delivery of courses according to customer needs and objectives

  • Communicates the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders

  • Forecasts and tracks key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts); prepares reports on account status.

  • Assists with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as required


  • Conducts consultative and solution orientated sales

  • Cultivates client relationships toward providing consultation, training, and/or education

  • Performs client needs assessments and recommend appropriate training, educational, and/or product solutions

  • Identifies and attends relevant professional meetings, conferences, and networking events to help build market awareness, cultivate relationships, and gain relevant industry insights

  • Develops business and community partnerships along with outreach activities to initiate and expand new corporate, open enrollment, and workforce development programs and services

  • Research and monitors industry trends for opportunities to develop and sell new programs and services

  • Updates customer relationship management system daily and ensures that the information is current and complete

  • Responsibilities: Achieve sales objectives, update, keep current on ECE offerings, keep current on competitive products and services, know and follow the ECE sales process, and manage prospect pipeline

  • Key performance indicators: Revenue, Number of accounts, average revenue per sale, call activity, conversion rate, product presentations, and product proposals

  • Performs other related duties as required


  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, and three years of experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, Junior Account Manager, or related role, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce, Zoho CRM or HubSpot) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel); familiarity with account management software (CRM) is a must


  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, education, communication, or related field

  • At least three years of experience in sales, business development, consulting services, continuing education, or human resources; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

  • Experience in higher education

  • Experience with continuing education

  • Experience in b2b sales

  • Project management experience

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.
