The Director Learning & Development role is part of the Emory Healthcare System Talent team and directly enables the organization commitment to be the best place to learn by leading a team of learning and development professionals, and together, design and deploy learning programs with high level of instructional design expertise and design thinking for optimizing learners¿ experience and business impact. The role ensures learning priorities align with Emory Healthcare and HR Strategy, and that timelines are executed efficiently and managed proactively. The Emory Healthcare System Learning has made strides towards resetting the traditional class offerings and elevating the work to a programmatic approach tailored to best meet our participants needs and career levels. This shift requires a learning function that operates efficiently, responds with agility to organizational needs and promotes best practices in adult education. Next, we will focus on building future-ready skills focused on building inclusive leadership capability for our people leaders and preparing early career team members to step into larger roles with higher level of readiness and confidence. This role will maintain the current momentum, help build a learning and development strategy and continue to advance the learning culture at Emory Healthcare by meeting the growing needs of our ever-evolving organization. Focus Areas for Highest Impact: Leadership Capability Building Develop and launch a front-line leadership development program to enable leaders prepare for leadership roles or enhance their capability if they are already leading teams Redesign the foundation curriculum for newly hired and promoted leaders at Emory Healthcare to ensure their accelerated learning curve for higher effectiveness and impact Collaborate effectively with business leaders to bring Emory Healthcare specific content and enable internal faculty for delivering the content Create high quality learning experiences in virtual or blended environment to a system-wide participants group from different hospital and physician group practices Effectively build in Emory Healthcare Talent management tools and methods to achieve targeted participates development as part of the organization succession plan and targeted development for talent Closely partner with learning and development teams in the business units to ensure alignment of efforts, share resources and provide internal expertise support to their work Work with Emory Healthcare leaders to understand their challenges and offer learning solutions for the challenges they experience. Look for patters and shared needs to scale up learning and leadership development interventions Manage LinkedIn Learning leadership content for curated blended learning approach in capability building efforts and programs Functional Capability Building Support functional learning needs and content in response to emerging organizational needs to enable system-wide initiatives from internal functions including Lean Office, IT, Regulatory Compliance, DE&I, Finance, etc. Equip functional leaders and SME¿s to create and deliver learning content. Using the established instructional design service model, oversee support for instructional design, program design and execution for functional learning initiatives Partner with Emory Healthcare Lean office to develop and imbed Lean content and Lean Certification programs into current offerings Oversee support for owners of mandatory training which includes annual regulatory curriculum currently offered in a eLearning format Partnership with Emory Healthcare System Talent and DE&I Partner with System Talent Management to extrapolate the learning needs from the general talent review processes Develop, in partnership with System Talent Management, HRBPs, and business leaders learning content to address current and forecasted learning needs Develop tailored senior leadership development program, manage execution and continuously improve content to ensure needs for accelerated growth are met Work closely to create DE&I capability building content and imbed it in current program as applicable, offer as stand-alone course work and enculturate through existing organizational platforms LMS Ownership Lead the core LMS team to ensure e-learning content is engaging and effective Develop a customer-centric approach to help functional SME¿s with e-learning content creation and customization of vendor content Lead the annual cycle of required regulatory curriculum, build relationships with functional content owners and ensure great user experience for Emory Healthcare learners Bring innovation to utilize the LMS system more effectively, ensure we have system-level standards and support for LMS administrators across the system Emory Healthcare Learning Practice Area/ COE Advancement Ensure the learning team is responding appropriately to requests for internal support from operating units and functions using the instructional design service model. Promote an active network connecting the learning & development community in Emory Healthcare Share and promote best practices in learning and instructional design. Work through the instructional technology specialist to research the latest in instructional technology to determine if any new technology fills a need at Emory Healthcare. Work with operating unit HR teams and business stakeholders to propose, budget and execute new solutions that fill Emory Healthcare needs. Skills and Experience Requirements Bachelor degree, Masters in Learning Related Discipline preferred Proven ability in delivering capability results through learning programs and interventions Strong expertise in leadership development Strong business acumen Current knowledge of learning technologies and trends, current practices and blended program design techniques for improved learning and development effectiveness Ability to apply instructional design principles and adult learning techniques for creating engaging and impactful development content Effective communication and influencing skills Ability to seamlessly work with a variety of teams and stakeholders with style awareness fostering strong partnerships across the organization Effective leadership skills and ability to grow and develop talent within the learning organization and the broader HR function Customer centricity focus and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external partners

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree, Masters in Learning Related Discipline preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
