Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and maintains a data dictionary and meta data.

  • Supports efforts to ensure that data standards are developed and maintained.

  • Ensures that the uses of data through reports and queries are accurate.

  • Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs.

  • Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and transformation on various datasets, including SEER, NHANES, and EHR data.

  • Conduct statistical analyses and apply biostatistical methods to research questions.

  • Develop and implement machine learning models for health data analytics.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and data scientists.

  • Lead the data management and analysis aspects of research projects.Generate and present detailed reports on data findings.

  • Contribute to the writing of research papers and grant proposals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with large-scale data analytics in a health research context.

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare databases.

  • Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., SQL, SAS).

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).

  • Proven experience working with SEER, NHANES, and EHR data.

  • Experience handling and integrating multimodal data sets.

  • Strong coding skills in Python and R.

  • Demonstrated track record of research, including publications.

  • Experience in health research and familiarity with clinical data.

  • Previous experience working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

  • Proficiency in data cleaning, analysis, and visualization.

  • Strong understanding of biostatistics and machine learning techniques.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
