JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Works primarily on the Finance Team in the School of Medicine (SOM) Office of Fiscal Affairs to provide financial support for the SOM's 28 academic departments, 20 support units, and 2,600 faculty.

  • Creates and maintains a financial analytics workbook in Excel to be updated daily during budget season and throughout the year.

  • In addition, analyzes changes in the departmental and school budgets.

  • Prepares complex financial reports and analytics to support SOM leadership to include the Dean, Executive Associate Deans, and CBOs in making sound financial decisions.

  • Analyzes data, determines trends and makes projections.

  • Gathers data and provides input in the annual budgeting process; advises Department Administrators on the detailed budgeting that Financial Strategic Alignment (FSA) requires.

  • Reconciles complex accounts. Prepares complex financial data for submission to the Provost's Office.

  • May prepare and present budget training materials.

  • May participate in or lead finance related projects.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and one year of accounting, finance or operations management experience OR a master's degree in Business Administration or Accounting.

  • Advanced Excel skills required.
