This is a central university position in the Office of Grants and Contracts Accounting (OGCA) and Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP).
Processes account/award set up and maintenance within the Compass (PeopleSoft) System to ensure Emory's research data integrity.
Responsible for logging and processing the set up of new, continuation, and prior approval accounts.
Evaluates documentation for accuracy, reviews scope of work to determine class/NACUBO code, if necessary, and reviews file for missing information. Specializes in loading detailed budgetary information as well as assigning
Compass chartfields to research projects.
May be assigned special projects to ensure data integrity within Compass.
Assists in processing various modifications to awards including carryovers, de-obligations, PI changes, level of effort changes, project team modifications, adding new sponsors to the system, department changes and smartkey maintenance.
Processes requests from the OGCA to create new projects, program income, or cost share accounts after the project has been established.
Serves as a liaison between the OSP and OGCA during this process to ensure accuracy.
May assist in researching issues received through the listserv on questions regarding the NOA.
May assist in testing the NOA link sent to the departments and give departments step-by-step instructions on how to retrieve NOAs.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
A high school diploma or equivalent and five years of research administration or financial experience, OR a bachelor's degree and one year of research administration or financial experience.
Proficiency with PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office tools strongly preferred.
Strong communication skills.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to return to an Emory University location in the future. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
