Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Partners with local and system leaders to ensure an optimal experience for employees and patients.

  • In concert with the Emory Healthcare Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, directs and implements cultural competency efforts and operational support at the local operating unit..

  • Collaborates with leaders, staff, and internal and external agencies to ensure programing supports our mission, vision and values.

  • Creates, oversees and executes a variety of DEI strategies to foster ongoing conversation and appreciation and awareness of diversity.

  • Mentors, listens and advises on matters related to DEI.

  • Assesses department needs and delivers appropriate training and education on cultural competency.

  • Leads the completion of applications for designations and assessments.

  • Provides leadership of the Patient Experience, Spiritual Health and Volunteer & Guest Services teams.

  • Works with Patient Experience leadership to ensure care teams have an understanding of areas of improvement, are educated on how to sustain improvement, and are recognized for outstanding care delivery.

  • Partners with the Spiritual Health leader to bring timely, appropriate support and resources to staff and physicians.

  • Works with the director of Volunteer & Guest Services to create a welcoming first impression for patients and engage and collaborate with our volunteer community.

  • Collaborates with the local executive team on initiatives geared toward improving culture, engaging staff and physicians, and recognizing teams for their outstanding work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor¿s degree in business, human resources or a related field.

  • Master¿s degree strongly preferred.

  • At least eight years of experience in a role focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • A minimum of five years of management experience.
