Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Plans, implements, evaluates and supervises all functions of Radiology Services to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient medical imaging services to patients.

  • Evaluates and recommends new equipment or equipment modifications.

  • Coordinates equipment service contracts, the procurement of new equipment and services and departmental construction activities.

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates cost containment programs of consumable supplies and equipment on an on-going basis.

  • Plans, administers, and monitors the department's capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgets by reviewing prior budget expenses, regularly reviewing year to date expenses, investigating variances, and taking corrective action to control expenses at approved levels.

  • Develops departmental short and long term goals and objectives.

  • Meets with other staff members to discuss progress and to develop future courses of action.

  • Establishes, revises, administers and communicates policies, procedures and related forms in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.

  • Communicates and monitors compliance with regulatory, licensing and accreditation standards; determines impact of changes on departmental services or programs.

  • Recommends space and other resources needed by department.

  • Participates in selecting outside sources for needed services.

  • Fosters expansion of existing clinical programs to enhance market share and improve operation performance.

  • Operationalizes decisions that are made as it relates to strategic and business planning activities.

  • Meets budgeted expectations in regards to labor productivity and expense management.

  • Participates in strategic planning, operations and capital budgeting processes.

  • Manages and influences relationships with executive leadership, physicians, functional area managers and staff to achieve best in practice performance and business results.

  • Prepares budget recommendations; monitors and verifies expenditures.

  • Manages staff and employee performance.

  • Resolves Human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs (clinical, clerical and administrative), interviews and hires staff.

  • Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills.

  • Determines disciplinary, termination and salary actions.

  • Develops and implements organizational, and EHC, policies and procedures including, but not limited to JCAHO, OSHA, billing/reimbursement, medical records guidelines, and human resources.

  • Using reengineering, work flow analyses, etc. to develop techniques and practices to improve the provision of health care services.

  • In conjunction with clinical leaders, develops and implements state-of-the-art care management techniques and approaches for patient triage, after hours services, urgent care services, case management services, and disease management strategies and programs.

  • Maintains knowledge of current diagnostic standards and procedures as recommended by the American College of Radiology.

  • Works with leader to formulate plan for ongoing professional development.

  • Attends educational in-services as appropriate.

  • Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.

  • Prepares financial and operational reports and analyses reflecting progress and trends; makes recommendations or provides conclusions.

  • Maintains medical records and processes; manages retrieval and analysis of medical information.

  • Collaborates with PFS, Managed Care, and Compliance departments to ensure optimal and accurate billing practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, management, health administration, or related field.

  • Masters degree preferred.

  • Six years management experience within a medical imaging environment including multi-site group oversight.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
