The School of Nursing's Director of Clinical Placement will direct, create, and implement processes and guidelines for practicum placements.
Recruit clinical sites to include the identification of new opportunities and will evaluate the appropriateness of potential, new and current clinical sites.
Will collaborate and consult with course coordinators and program directors to determine the educational requirements for clinical experiences for nursing students.
Serves as liaison between the School of Nursing (SON) and clinical sites to initiate and expedite clinical contracts, agreements, and adjunct faculty appointments.
Creates, maintains and updates annually a clinical site evaluations database.
Monitors SON compliance with agency requests and regulations.
Serves as SON representative at appropriate external meetings regarding clinical placements to include hospital update, placement meetings, residency program, etc.
Identify and coordinate site visits to agencies/practices/other sites which may be able to provide additional clinical placements for students.
Supervise staff and students.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and five years of supervisory/leadership experience in a related field.
Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff and must have strong leadership and management skills, including project management skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills are required including proficiency with related systems and Microsoft Office.
Master's degree in Nursing.
Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia and in good standing.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
