Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Under the direction of the Vice President, Human Resources and Employee Relations, is a senior level business partner for EHI and lead for system employee relations.

  • This role is a member of the Senior HR Operations team, which will deploy human resources initiatives, processes, performance management, and employee engagement and informs opportunities for leader development across Emory Healthcare Inc. and Emory Healthcare.

  • Is the technical expert in Employee Relations and directs the day to day function and Human Resources policy management for Emory Healthcare.

  • Serves as a consultant to other Operating Unit business partners on employee relations matters, works with Central Leave Office team on leaves and accommodations, Talent, Learning and Culture team, Office of Compliance, internal and external legal counsel, EEO Officials, local and other officials and employees of public, private and governmental agencies.

  • This position reports to the Vice President, Human Resources EHI and Employee Relations, EHC.

  • Partners with organizational leadership to better understand the human resources needs of the business units.

  • Assists in the development of the organization's strategic human resources plans.

  • Develops and implements appropriate programs to respond to business needs.

  • Monitors the effectiveness of human resources initiatives and ensures they are reviewed periodically to respond to changing environments or needs.

  • Oversees the development, administration, and revision of human resources policies and procedures.

  • Executes the initiatives of the entities¿ People Strategy including retention, employee engagement, Care Transformation, fair and just culture, The Pledge and diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Serves as a leader and mentor to the operating unit human resources team and provides consultancy and guidance in day to day employee relations case management.

  • Oversees the EHI job board and partners with Talent Acquisition on the timely filling of jobs.

  • Oversees Human Resource project plan for EHI restructures and acquisitions and serves on the EHC Restructure Committee.

  • Works with management and staff to ensure fair and consistent interpretation and application of policies and procedures.

  • Ensures employment and benefits practices comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.

  • May provide direction to other human resources managers or to business units concerning employment issues.

  • Manages special projects, defines work plans, and facilitates associated activities.

  • Manages two (2) managers and is responsible for departmental employment, training, performance management, and salary administration activities.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.

  • A related master's degree is strongly preferred.

  • Seven years of professional experience in one or more relevant human resources specialties such as benefits, compensation or employment, which includes three years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (MediumMax 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
