- Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, public administration or a related field and seven years of related experience which includes two years at a management level, OR equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

The Director of Academic Programs & Faculty Development, reporting to the Department Administrator in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, is responsible for critical aspects of the department’s academic and learning team.
This position is responsible for overseeing the learning environment of the department to include Residency, Clerkship, and Fellowship programs, supervising the education team staff, expanding faculty development programs to facilitate advancement opportunities for new and junior faculty, and research administration and analysis.
An ideal candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be comfortable supervising a team. The ideal candidate should demonstrate dexterity at handling multiple ongoing projects.
Specific duties include:
Serve as liaison between the department and the School of Medicine.
Play a supporting role for individual faculty involved in education, such as clerkship, residency, and fellowship programs.
Coordination of the department’s training programs. This will involve meeting and collaborating with program leaders and coordinators.
Develop and manage a robust faculty development program for the Department. Will work directly with faculty members to evaluate and promotion readiness. Will meet directly with faculty for CV and portfolio development,
Develop a faculty mentorship program pairing new and junior faculty.
Advocate and promote visibility of academic programs.
Identify opportunities for philanthropic support of academic programs for the department.
Partner with Vice Chair of Research and Vice Chair of Population Health for proposal review and approval of grant applications.
Develop and monitor budgets for programs.
Organize monthly Fellows Conference and organize Physician Director Quarterly Meetings.
Management of Resident and Fellow Research Day.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
At least two years of management experience.
Experience in an academic environment, preferably working with faculty, residents, and fellows.
A background in submitting research proposals and applying for grants and funding.
Master’s degree preferred.
