Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, a top ranked institution, is seeking a full time Director, Real Estate Program. This position plays a vital role in the development and execution of strategic priorities and initiatives of the Goizueta Business School related to real estate programming. The position will be responsible for managing strategic relationships with executive leadership, faculty, staff, alumni, community business partners and students. This highly strategic role requires the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

The Goizueta Real Estate Program was launched in 2007 with the goal of becoming a pre-eminent real estate program, seeking excellence among top tier business schools that have academic real estate programs. Over the last eleven years, in addition to offering five real estate courses at the BBA and MBA levels, we have instituted a range of activities designed to enhance the educational experience of our real estate students and prepare them for executive positions with real estate companies and for entrepreneurial opportunities establishing their own companies. A partial list of these activities is:

  • A student run real estate private equity fund that invests a portion of the Emory Endowment in real estate private equity syndications and REIT stocks

  • BBA and MBA real estate clubs

  • Dinner & Learn speakers and panels

  • Participation in real estate case competitions such as the Atlanta region NAIOP real estate case competition and the CoreNet Global Challenge

  • Establishing the Goizueta Real Estate Case Competition

  • Offering extracurricular seminars in Argus and Excel

  • Sponsoring social events for real estate alumni and students

JOB DESCRIPTION : Under the guidance of faculty, directs the planning, development and implementation of a growing program of realestate initiatives. Plans, administers and monitors program budgets. Develops short and long term goals and objectives. Oversees related special projects. May represent the program in various national and international settings. May manage the solicitation of funding from foundation, corporate, individual and governmental donors. Collaborates with and seeks the support of representatives from other organizations. Establishes and administers policies and procedures. Supervises staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.The Director will be an organizer and relationship-oriented facilitator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's degree in business administration, social sciences, public administration or a related field and a minimum of two years of real estate related experience, OR equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.MBA or JD and 5 or more years of progressive management experience with demonstrated record of related accomplishments, or related real estate or program administration experience is preferred, but not required.

Specific Role Duties & Responsibilities

  • The role requires exceptional communication skills matched with demonstrated integrity, self-motivation, analytical skills and emotional intelligence. The position oversees strategic objective performance, strategic planning, and financial and budgeting process for the Real Estate program.

  • Oversees the operations and delivery of initiatives of the Real Estate Program.

  • Manages budget and engages in strategic planning to ensure all goals are met

  • Represents the real estate program on new initiatives

  • Plans, coordinates and manages events of the real estate program

  • Implements new initiatives and projects, and monitors ongoing activities of department or center.

  • Under the direction of faculty, initiates and directs short and long range program planning, including development of new programs

  • Evaluates existing programs for effectiveness and value; makes recommendations for improvement and/or modifications

  • Proactively identifies emerging issues by researching “best practices”, and develops recommendations for new business initiatives

  • Conceptualize, plan, design, and implement prospect and solicitation strategies in support University priorities

  • Hires and directs the activities of support staff and student workers.

· Maintains and manages relationships with outside vendors and consultants.

· Works with the Development and Alumni Relations office of the school to assist with the solicitation of funding from foundation, corporate, individual and governmental donors.

· Reviews department policies and processes and implements improvements as needed.

· Work closely with department and University staff to coordinate giving information and activities to create awareness of development functions and establish opportunities for solicitations.

· Represents the Real Estate Program to internal and external constituents

· Maintains and manages relationships with our over 700 real estate alumni

· Performs other job-related duties as required
