The Emory Orthopaedics Department at Grady is recruiting a full-time, traumatologist to serve as The Director of the Orthopaedic Trauma Service at Grady, a busy Level I Trauma Center.

We seek candidates with 5+ years of experience in a Level I Trauma Center and strong national presence in AO and OTA. Additionally, applicants must currently hold full professor rank and have completed an accredited residency training program, Board Certified/Board Eligible Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with sub-specialty fellowship training in Trauma. Eligible for licensure in Georgia. Candidates should be committed to an academic surgical practice, research, and resident teaching.

The Director of the Orthopaedic Trauma will participate in the care of our trauma and critical care patients and demonstrate a commitment to the education of fellows and residents. As a leader, candidate will facilitate the overall growth and development of orthopaedic trauma service through implementation of our core mission, vision and values. To this aim, the candidate will function in the following roles and responsibilities.

• Interface with other trauma related services as relates to TOPIC, Peer Review, and hospital trauma focused policies and procedures

• Serve as the point of contact for hospital administration involving orthopaedic trauma quality control

• Lead outreach efforts related to Grady Orthopaedic Trauma local and national branding

• Moderate bimonthly trauma faculty meetings

• Appoint the associate trauma director who will function to replace the current "trauma liason-sub" to ensure comprehensive orthopaedic trauma representation at all required events.

• Create and steward the trauma faculty operating room, call, and PTO schedule

• Participates in strategic planning, including annual capital and operational budgeting process as necessary.

• Models collaborative, professional, and respectful relationships with staff, faculty, and other stakeholders as a departmental leader.
