Discover Your Career at Emory University

Emory University is a leading research university that fosters excellence and attracts world-class talent to innovate today and prepare leaders for the future. We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.

Description

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking full-time or part-time radiologists to join the expanding Division of Emergency and Trauma Imaging (ETI), currently 24 faculty and one of the largest such divisions in the USA. The Division provides emergent imaging interpretations at 6 Emory hospitals and Grady Memorial Hospital, which is the state’s largest Level 1 trauma center. The division operates 24/7/365, and faculty staff a mix of remote and onsite shifts.

In collaboration with successful candidates, physician schedules are carefully composed to optimize work-life balance and prioritize long-term personal and divisional success. Faculty work with divisional leadership to choose from a number of schedule templates. Day, afternoon, evening, swing and overnight shifts are available, with overnight work being optional. Schedules can be fixed (such as 1 week on and 1 week off; 1 week on and 2 weeks off; 1 week on and 3 weeks off) or flexible (rotating shifts with a per-year shift requirement). The more overnight shifts done per year, the lower the annual shift requirement. More specific schedule details and options can be provided in discussions with leadership after application.

Candidates should have a demonstrated career interest in Emergency Imaging, possess strong clinical skills, highly function in the fast-paced time-sensitive emergency setting and work well in a collaborative environment. Candidates can choose to be more clinically focused without academic time, or to be academically focused with 20% academic time. Academic faculty should be prepared to fully participate in the non-clinical divisional activities, including scholarship, teaching, trainee supervision, and service.

The Department of Radiology, together with Emory University School of Medicine, is fully committed to the shared values of diversity and inclusion in order to achieve and sustain excellence. We firmly believe that we best promote excellence by recruiting and retaining a diverse group of faculty and staff promoting a sense of inclusion and belonging for every member of our community. This climate for diversity, inclusion and excellence is critical to attaining the best scholarship, teaching, and research.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be ABR Board-certified/eligible and eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license. Candidates with subspecialty training or emergency imaging experience are desired. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
