DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGYAND LABORATORY MEDICINE

FACULTY MEMBER in MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University seeks a full-time faculty member, at a rank from Assistant to Full Professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments. The successful candidate will be based at Emory University Hospital, a tertiary care center serving the Atlanta metropolitan area. We are seeking an academically-oriented individual with substantial training or experience in bioinformatics who is board-certified or board-eligible in Molecular Genetic Pathology or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG). Additionally, candidates with LGG board certification/eligibility have the potential for future increases in time and responsibility in the cytogenetics laboratory. Emory offers extraordinary opportunities in both tumor diagnostics and infectious disease molecular testing. Emory is the only academic center whose faculty has included three presidents of the Association for Molecular Pathology. As one of the top NIH-funded Pathology Departments nationally, we offer outstanding opportunities for scholarship and collaborative research. Preference will be given to applicants with the ability to develop a basic, translational, and/or clinical research program, and will be encouraged to develop research collaborations with faculty of the Winship Cancer Institute, Georgia’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
