Emory University Faculty Support Services Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia
The Faculty Support Services Specialist duties and responsibilities include coordinating the appointments and promotions process for a department, ensuring and arranging for the timely submission of information and paperwork, serving as the subject matter expert and resource regarding promotion and tenure guidelines, assisting with faculty development activities, keeping a calendar of candidate milestones, and prompting and advising candidates of next steps in the promotion process. Responsible for providing administrative support to chairs, committees, faculty and other leaders to include maintaining calendars of meetings, recording mentorship engagements and maintaining accountability of mentors/mentees. Solicits and compiles quarterly accomplishments of assigned faculty and assists with the submission of Annual Reports as requested.
Responsible for tracking, monitoring, and coordinating the Visa process. Responsible for requesting, securing, preparing, coordinating, organizing, tracking, and compiling information from multiple sources. Assists in the accurate preparation of complex documents and applications. May monitor and facilitate the credentialing of professional staff. May assist with the on-boarding of new faculty members, orienting of new faculty to institution wide policies and procedures, coordinating the procurement of the technological tools required for their position, and overseeing institution and facility access. Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent and five years of clerical or secretarial experience OR bachelor's degree and one year of program related support experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
