The Gift Administration team supports all Advancement and Alumni Engagement departments by overseeing new gift agreements, monthly annual fundraising reports, internal and external audit support and named spaces pricing analysis. This position will report to the Director of Gift Administration.
Analyzes historical accounting data and other information to make projections which will aid management in short- and long-range financial planning.
Coordinates action necessary to correct account balances and maintain proper accounting controls and procedures.
Assists in year-end audits and in ensuring the accuracy of accounting data.
Analyzes financial statements and prepares and analyzes financial reports to represent current and projected financial status.
Projects future trends and prepares long-range operational forecasts and cash flow analysis.
May assist in preparing, developing and monitoring budgets.
May perform indirect cost analysis.
Performs related responsibilities as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
In addition to the duties outlined above, the Financial Analyst may be required to:
Manage the creation of new accounts, including setup, tracking, and ensuring compliance with donor intent and division policies.
Develop, create, and implement high-level reports on fundraising activity/progress to goal, unit/regional activity, special projects, financial reporting and reconciliation.
Assess, evaluate, create, and implement strategies for reporting Gift Administration data.
May include user reports for the CRM system and query tools.
Manages reporting schedules and data requirements.
Stays abreast of university-wide reporting systems, databases, and policies.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance or a related field and four years of financial analysis or accounting experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Successful candidates will possess experience in accounting and finance operations, managing budgets and financial reports, working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, relational databases, project management software, and CRM systems.
Experience with technical reporting and data visualization products including SQL or PL-SQL Developer, SSMS, SSRS, Visual Studio, data manipulation and analysis, and Business Intelligence/ data visualization tools.
An aptitude in mastering new software, applications, and databases.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with ambiguity, and navigate a complex work environment.
Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.
Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience working independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals, with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting.
Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.
The role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to return to an Emory University location in the future. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
