Emory University Helios/Mass Cytometry Operator in atlanta, Georgia

Reporting to the PI of the shared resource, position will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and use of the Helios system. Highly motivated individual with the strong desire to learn exciting state-of-the-art technology will be responsible for discussing mass cytometry technology with potential users. Position will consult with users regarding potential mass cytometry projects which may include guiding experimental set-up and procedure optimization, panel design, and data analysis consultation. Position will provide feedback to users regarding troubleshooting sample quality and staining issues and provide basic data quality assessments. Position will act as a liaison between end users and the Fluidigm field applications specialist to ensure the effective operation of equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and two years of research experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in a scientific field with demonstrated skill with flow cytometry to include experimental design, sample preparation, instrument optimization, and data analysis. Individual should demonstrate the ability to identify and troubleshoot critical issues, and work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent organization and documentation skills. Should have strong communications skills and demonstrated ability to interact and communicate well with others. Willingness to work flexible hours as dictated by experimental needs.
