JOB DESCRIPTION: Primary role is utilization of the PACS patient demographic database for electronic image retrieval, image distribution, CD creation, film digitization, and film printing. Responsible for editing and maintaining the computerized tracking system for patient film folders and records. Creates and/or modifies master film folders and subfolders to ensure that patient records remain organized. Reconciles subfolders and filing in the master folders. Sorts and routes radiology folders to appropriate locations. Assists physicians and clinical staff in retrieving and displaying digital images via the web-based PACS application.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED). One year of experience in a radiology department file room or related healthcare experience. Knowledge of radiology department workflow and various imaging modalities preferred. Familiarity with specific radiology information applications such as IDXrad preferred. Basic computer knowledge e.g. the ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and video display terminal to receive, retrieve and/or audit information and data.
