Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES) is looking for a new team member to join our passionate, dedicated team and facilitate our mission of enhancing survival for future victims of sudden out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. This position will align with the CARES way. Our mission is to help communities determine standardized outcome measures for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest to improve care and increase survival. This means a daily purpose of positively impacting lives by equipping providers with the necessary information.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Identifies, designs, develops, implements, and revises software applications to meet business needs.

  • Supports software applications and associated operating systems.

  • Programs, analyzes and writes specifications.

  • Devises solutions to system problems.

  • Develops and tests applications; makes revisions to improve functionality.

  • Develops and analyzes the effectiveness of new applications and test procedures.

  • Writes and edits reports to provide recommendations, conclusions and other data.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

OTHER JOB DETAILS:

  • Provide software development support, including development, review, implementation, and revision of software applications to meet business needs.

  • Primary Focus: Angular Client-Side software development

  • Secondary Capability: Server-Side software development (Java)

  • Peer-Review code, ensuring that code is secure, functional, and aligned with CARES coding standards and business needs.

  • Review software specifications, systems, and tasks using analytical and investigative methods and techniques to ensure they are secure, functional, aligned with CARES coding standards and business needs, and compliant with all applicable statutes, laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.

  • As a key service member of the software support team, your primary role is to manage, support and represent the Client-Side Angular development of the NextGen CARES app.

  • Collaborate with fellow developers, designers, analysts, and testers to update the CARES application to meet business needs better and solve problems.

  • Develop a high-quality and scalable software application with Angular using modern, front-end engineering practices.

  • Implement UI component-approved designs, focusing on re-usability, scalability, and supportability.

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the entire CARES framework and architecture (server-side and client-side).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering or a related field and three years of related experience in programming and software systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Knowledge of software development in a research institution context preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Software Development Experience:

  • 2+ years of general software development (Java nice-to-have)

  • 1+ years of Angular client-side development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to interact with stakeholders, comprehend requirements, and explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.

  • Experience working with onshore/offshore teams is preferred.

  • Passionate about and motivated by the mission of CARES.

  • Proficiency with Jira (or other task management systems), IntelliJ (or other IDE), Git (or other source control), Jenkins (or other build tools), and Slack (or other messaging tools).

  • Ability to manage and interface with APIs and web services.

  • DevOps experience, such as creating configuration, building, and testing scripts for continuous integration environments.

  • Experience with Linux/SSH is a plus.

  • Well-versed in software architecture patterns.

  • Proficiency with Windows and/or Macintosh desktop operating system, PC and/or Macintosh hardware, peripherals, and Microsoft Office products.
