  • Prepares linen for use in a hospital and home setting. Sorts linen into the appropriate receiving carts. Separates heavily soiled linen into designated classifications and ensures it is washed according to established guidelines.

  • Uses chemicals prescribed for cleaning lines.

  • Operates laundry equipment such as washers, dryers iron pressing equipment.

  • Loads and unloads laundry into washers and dryers.

  • Cleans machines and equipment in the laundry wash and linen processing areas; cleans carts.

  • Follows infection control and universal precautions when handling soil linens.

  • Takes precautions, in keeping with OSHA standards and other applicable regulations when working with hazardous chemicals, materials and power equipment.

  • Uses personal protective equipment as required.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of laundry related experience.

  • The ability to read, write and follow instructions.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
