Description

The Manager of Decision Support directs the development of Patient Level Reporting and Analysis for the hospital business or clinic units of Emory Healthcare. The Decision Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of EPSI Product Line Analysis (PLA) Cost Accounting, Contract Management, Dash Board and Enterprise Analyst modules.

  • Manages the Cost Accounting and analyst staff and ensures the quality and timeliness of the monthly costing data.

  • Manages the development of reporting by providing direction to the decision support analysts.

  • Plans and schedules monthly decision support meetings to review costing and product line reports. Provides individual and group training monthly.

  • May assist in directing and planning EHC system-wide training for EPSI users in conjunction with hospital decision support analysts.

  • Serves as one of the primary liaisons between AllScripts and EHC IS for system upgrades, fixes and data extracts.

  • Coordinates testing for PLlA upgrades.

  • Provides Senior Management Team with analytical tools to manage produce lines and control costs.

  • Communicates changes or modifications made to designated EPSI modules to EPSI users.

  • Works with finance representatives to ensure integrity of information impacting other EPSI modules such as SPB, Productivity, etc.

  • Directs Manages and/or completes complex financial analysis for patient data as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree, with concentration in Finance, Management Engineering and/or Computer Sciences.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • A minimum of five (5) years progressive management experience with at least seven (7) years in healthcare finance, decision support system management and/or information systems databases required.

  • Comprehensive background in healthcare finance, planning and management, complete working knowledge decision support systems and database management.

  • A working knowledge of principles and practices of department administration, including methods and techniques used in program management and development, planning, organization and financial and personnel reporting.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
