JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Under the direction of the Director, Faculty Affairs Administration (Director), provides guidance regarding the relevance and application of School of Medicine and certain University policies.

  • Reviews, revises, drafts, and negotiates faculty-related institutional contracts.

  • Conducts reviews of proposed faculty external activity agreements.

  • Monitors external activity submissions to ensure that department administrators and Chairs are timely reviewing such submissions.

  • Responds directly to challenging faculty questions regarding industry relations policy matters and develops creative solutions to problems that meet the needs of all parties involved, in consultation with the Director.

  • Evaluates faculty annual disclosure reports for compliance with various University and School policies and communicates with faculty regarding information about them in such reports.

  • Enhances record keeping capabilities by maintaining databases with information regarding all past, current, and pending SOM documents, and generating monthly analysis reports.

  • Manage special projects and performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience independently interpreting and advising (orally and in writing) faculty, administrators, residents, other staff and outside parties on complex institutional polices, agreements, and other documents and developing creative solutions to problems that meet the needs of all parties involved OR a Bachelor's degree and specific experience with contractual agreements, faculty consulting relationships and conflict of interest issues in an academic setting preferred.

  • Legal background preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department.This role requires residency in the state of GA.Emory reserves the right to change remote workstatus with notice toemployee.
