Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager in Health Informatics to lead our Physician Informatics Program. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the integration and optimization of our EMR system, specifically Epic, by managing a team of Physician Informatics Specialists and Epic EMR Physician Builders. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of healthcare operations to support the delivery of patient-centered care through innovative informatics solutions.

Work Location: Hybrid - Atlanta, GA: 60% on-site . Candidates applying should be local to ATL or willing to relocate to ATL prior to start date.

Salary: $53.45/hr - $99.60/hr

The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications of relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity.

Description

Candidates with EPIC Application Certification(s) are HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Team Leadership and Development: Lead, onboard, and guide new Physician Informatics Specialists and Epic Physician Builders. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Project Management: Oversee the assignment and monitoring of work for Physician Builders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. Support Physician Informaticists in project report outs, providing guidance and expertise to drive project success.

Data Analytics and Visualization: Conduct light data analytics and create data visualizations to support various system-level health informatics projects. Leverage data to inform decision-making and improve healthcare outcomes.

Time Tracking and Resource Management: Implement and manage time tracking systems for Physician Builders, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to project timelines.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to align informatics initiatives with organizational goals. Serve as a liaison between IT, clinical teams, and leadership to facilitate effective communication and project success.

Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends in health informatics and EMR technologies. Recommend and implement improvements to processes and systems to enhance efficiency and the quality of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Clinical/Health Informatics, Nursing Informatics , Health information systems, or related field preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex informatics projects and in process improvement related to technology enabled workflows.

  • Demonstrated growth and experience in applied clinical/health informatics.

  • In-depth knowledge of EHR systems, clinical workflows, and optimization strategies.

  • Epic experience and certification strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical abilities and solution-oriented mindset. Excellent communication, presentation, and influence skills with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across various levels of the organization.

  • Strong knowledge of Epic EMR systems, including certification or extensive experience with Epic EMR configurations and customizations.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with experience in data analytics and visualization tools.

  • Outstanding leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
