Plans, manages, coordinates, and monitors activities and operations related to operations/process improvement program.
Evaluates needs of designated areas and identifies improvement activities.
Develops and implements strategic goals and objectives.
Serves as a central point of contact for projects assigned and is responsible for prioritization and implementation of performance improvement activities, project management, facilitation of clinician engagement, internal and external communication, education, data submission, and reporting.
Initiates, coordinates, and executes operations and process improvements across the Enterprise through collaboration with the following: Inpatient and outpatient leaders, Procedural location (EHC Transfer & Access Service, ED), Ancillary departments, Nursing leadership, Medical directors, chiefs, Chiefs of Staff, Informatics team, Frontline staff, Emory Healthcare Office of Quality, Emory Healthcare Project Management Office, Value Acceleration Program, and the MACRA Response Team.
Conducts financial and quantitative analysis and monitor existing or proposed processes, programs and services against internal and external benchmarks.
Develops operational efficiencies and cost reduction projects.
Expert in clinical operations excellence.
Deployed to discrete projects aimed at transforming clinical practices to improve quality and reduce costs.
Drives rapid, sustainable improvements in care quality with an emphasis on increased access, improved management of cost, and decreased care variation.
Analyzes intradepartmental collaboration along the entire Emory Healthcare care continuum.
The dependencies that each department have on one another define the fluidity of the care experience for both patients and clinicians.
Using Lean methodologies, identifies opportunities for improvement within the workflow process.
Leverages healthcare experience, industrial engineering process, and Lean methodologies to evaluate performance, apply best practice methodologies, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes to evolve operations to support a successful transition to value-based care.
Projects will be focused on addressing population health goals of reducing costs, improving quality, providing value, and improving performance and efficiency.
Prepares EHC for health reform and change in reimbursement models by using clinical transformation expertise to focus on improving quality outcomes, increasing patient throughput and decreasing costs through hard-wiring evidence-based care pathways in specific, clinical conditions and proven risk management techniques.
Collaborative projects focus on rapid implementation, real-time adjustments and robust performance tracking. Responsible for training and coaching staff on Lean principles.
Helps to develop capabilities within EHC for a standardized process improvement approach to practice run initiatives.
This position may provide expert assistance and guidance.
Serves as a central point of contact for projects assigned.
Ensures that communications are disseminated to appropriate personnel within the organization.
Communicates timely and appropriate updates and information to the project teams.
Facilitate and engage clinicians throughout the organization to participate in practice transformation offerings and performance improvement collaborative.
Leads the implementation of performance improvement activities within the organization to accomplish the goals outline by the organization.
Monitors and identifies trends in performance and ensures that effective performance improvement plans are developed.
Ensures development of effective project plans and accompanying materials, using standard templates where possible.
Work with Clinical and Operational Leaders to prioritize process improvement projects
Bachelor's degree in Health Services or related field.
Minimum of five years related experience required, including at least two years in a management role, and two years of project management experience.
Specific experience in healthcare operations, process improvement, and patient flow strongly preferred.
Masters degree, clinical experience, and LEAN or Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1-10 lbs 0-33% of the work day (occasionally), negligible 34-66% of the workday (frequently), negligible 67-100% of the workday (constantly).
