Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops, writes and edits various communications materials including press release, media pitches, articles, and backgrounders.

• Builds and maintains media lists for sending media pitches.

• Develops and maintains effective methods for distributing media materials and information.

• Assists with media visits to campus.

• Maintains required record-keeping and documentation.

• Tracks press coverage, clippings, and Google Alerts. Leads and manages projects.

• May train staff in the use of communications technology.

• Supports university events.

• Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

• Excellent writing and presentation skills.

• Prefer experience with digital platforms and tools such as Cascade, Adobe Creative Cloud applications (i.e. PhotoShop, InDesign, Premier Pro, Illustrator) and experience with media monitoring tools such as Cision, Meltwater and/or MuckRack.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
