Description

The Emory University, Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a Neurocritical Care Attending Physician. This faculty member will spend their clinical time primarily in the Neuro ICU at Emory University Hospital, but may also practice at Emory University Hospital Midtown and Grady Hospital .

Neurocritical Care attendings are expected to teach and supervise residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers and participate in research within a chosen sub-specialty area.

The clinical expectations and academic goals associated with this position are generally summarized as follows.

• Clinical service in the Neurosciences ICU is typically scheduled in 1-2 week blocks, alternating coverage with other physicians, not exceeding 2-3 weeks of clinical service per month.

• Call responsibility would be in the ICU only and would be shared equitably among all physicians in the unit, typically 1-2 weekend on-call/on-service per month.

• No expectation to participate in outpatient clinical activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated mastery in Neurocritical care through verified responsibility, procedural competency and modeled compassion in the management of patients in multiple high acuity, high complexity and high volume neurointensive care units.
