Job Description:


Provides telephone triage services for the Georgia Newborn Screening Follow-Up Program at Emory. Responsible for reporting abnormal metabolic and endocrine screening results to the appropriate health care providers and making the necessary follow-up recommendations. Employee will receive on-site training regarding the specifics of each disease on the screening panel and follow-up protocols. Must have ability to interpret individual test results, incorporate other pertinent information and make appropriate recommendations. The majority of contact is by telephone with health care providers. Will have minimal contact with families by telephone and in clinic. Knowledge of the care of critically ill infants is preferred but not required. May perform other clinical services in support of genetics clinics including patient triage, phlebotomy and IV infusions.


Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensed as an RN or LPN by the State of Georgia. Two years of clinical experience for RN; eight years of clinical experience for LPN. Basic computer skills.
